We first met these two at Kelloggs’ cousin’s wedding, which we also shot. We haven’t met them before because they booked us online, so it was a pleasant surprise. They came up to us and said hello after our on-site slideshow played, and I never got around to telling them this, but I noticed them even before they introduced themselves. They were a few meters in front of me, this gorgeous looking pair, watching the slideshow intently with their arms around each other. I found it sweet and wondered for a second if we would end up shooting their wedding too, and as luck would have it, why, yes, yes, we would. Hahaha.
On Paolo and Kelloggs’ wedding day, as it unfolded, we would learn that they both went to Ateneo, lived in the same condo along Katipunan the entire time, but never met. Instead, they met in a hospital, as they were both going through check-ups for aviation school, at which they would end up as classmates. Then it took them a couple of years of friendship to realize they belonged together. I love this story, and have romanticised it endlessly in my head. They were always destined to meet and end up together, but it had to happen at the right time, when they were both ready for it. They’re both pilots now and travel the world together.
More than anything, it’s Jeff’s and my shared love of stories that binds us to this, to what we do. I forget a lot of things, like birthdays and taking my vitamins, but I remember these stories, and I keep them close to my heart.
Paolo and Kelloggs, thanks for having us! I love how the two of you are with each other — unquestionably very much in love, but more than anything, the best of friends. We had a fantastic time at your wedding, and hope to bump into you guys again someday. Love, always.
