“For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”
— W.B. Yeats
There’s a quiet ease and confidence to Anne and the way she carries herself. She’s comfortable in her own skin, and an absolute delight to watch. She also has a way of making everybody else feel good about themselves just by being around her. I know Anne from her emails and her blog, Stylist of Sorts, and will fondly remember Carlo as the no-nonsense finance guy who looks at her the way her father talks about her, like she is magic. I remember what Anne said during their reception, that many say she brought color into Carlo’s life, but he brought life into hers. They complement each other wonderfully.
Jeff and I will always have a soft spot for Baguio, and enjoy shooting weddings there. This was no exception. I’m completely smitten with Anne’s dress by Richie Ortega-Torres. I’ve been looking forward to seeing it, because I can imagine the pressure of designing a stylist’s wedding dress, and it was perfect. The moment I saw her in it, I couldn’t imagine her walking down the aisle wearing any other dress. The flowers by Nikki Chatto were gorgeous as well, and I was lucky enough to bring some back home with me.
Carlo and Anne, thank you for bringing us back to the mountains and for sharing this day with us. Wishing you a lifetime of love and adventure.
