I will always remember Simon and Brenda because during our first meeting with Jojit, their coordinator, Simon asked him if he could have a ping-pong table at the reception. There was a moment of silence as Brenda, Jojit, Jeff, and I wondered if we heard him correctly. Yes, a ping-pong table. What for? BEER PONG. I knew then and there that I wanted to shoot this wedding. The beer pong idea was vetoed, of course. I knew that the moment I heard it, too. But the wedding was as delightful as I imagined it would be.
My tweet during the morning of this wedding went along the lines of, ‘Rain on our garden wedding. Argh.’ But Jojit and his team were on top of it, and we all managed to pull off a beautiful garden wedding in the rain. It helped greatly that Simon and Brenda agreed to meet before the ceremony. We had enough time to take their portraits, and that is always a good thing.
There’s something about how these two are together, how she looks up at him and how he takes care of her. I think it’s adorable how they can be silly together and not take themselves too seriously, and how Brenda was overcome with emotion during their shoot and cried. It was honest and pure, and my heart is forever happy to have been a part of this. I loved their ceremony and their funny, funny vows, and how this wedding was just moment after moment after moment. We had a field day. But mostly, I just loved being around them and basking in their happiness.
Simon and Brenda, thank you for having us with you on your wedding day. We had such a great time with you guys. Much love always.
