Jeff and I worked on a personal project called Portraits of a Marriage back in 2007, as I mentioned last year. It was a photoblog of diptychs of our daily married life. I’ve always wanted to pick it up again and continue, but we just never found the time. We’ve recently become active on Instagram though, and it’s been just that to us, a visual diary of everyday life as a married couple, as a family. It’s a lot easier than what we did with Portraits of a Marriage before because we just shoot with our phones for Instagram and upload right away. It takes seconds, really. And I love being able to connect with our couples there and seeing the world through their eyes for a change. We get to see our former couples’ kids grow up, too. Love, love, love.
Here’s what our home life has been like lately:
Corwin is half a year old now. It’s been the most wonderful, most stressful, most insane, most all-sorts-of-amazing six months of our lives. We get to share bits and pieces of it there, like that photo of him playing with a balloon. That was on Mother’s Day, after work. I brought home balloons for him from the reception. The look on his face as he played with them was pure, unadulterated joy, and my heart felt like exploding. My heart does that a lot these days. Everyday, I think. Just when I believe I can’t possibly love any more than I already do, I find that I can and I do. I had no idea it would be like this.
