Early morning light, coffee, and a bookstore. Jeff and I are geeks and bibliophiles, so getting to run around an empty bookstore again was a treat. It’s been a couple of years since we last shot in one. We’re not quite morning people, but we happily wake up for that glorious light every time.
We enjoy shooting engagement sessions, and I really should blog more of them. They’re a fantastic way to get to know our couples before the wedding day. It helps them feel more at ease with us and our cameras, and it adds to the rapport that we have with them, which helps them open up and let their guards down when it matters the most.
James and Angelica’s shoot felt organic and comfortable, very much like a double date. The conversation was easy, as was getting them to that place where they could be themselves around us. I love natural day-in-the-life shoots, when it’s stripped down to the essentials, to what resonates with our couples on a visceral level.
