Jeff had to go to Hong Kong for a couple of shoots without me last week. I had to sit this trip out because I broke my leg last month and am still recovering from the operation. (No worries, I’ll be back on my feet soon!) Hundreds of iMessages (mostly of weepy emoji faces from me because I wanted to be there, haha), two awesome shoots, and two days later, Jeff came home and gave me the hugs I needed. He’s the main photographer, and I second shoot and edit. I always love editing his shots, but his more recent work makes me want to marry him all over again.
Matthew and Annalyn’s story begins in Hong Kong, when they were on set for a commercial shoot for Diesel. Anna was trying on clothes in front of a mirror, and caught Matt checking out her legs. She tells this story, and he grins impishly, not bothering to deny it, and you know this is exactly what happened. He asks her out. She says yes.
On their very first date, on this exact same playground they shot at, Annalyn’s ankle got sprained on the rickety merry-go-round. I’m thinking she must’ve really liked him for her to continue seeing him again after that. And countless times more after. And here we are, six years later — they’re getting married!
It’s unreal how gorgeous these two are together. I love the way they look at each other, and how they make each other laugh. Beyond the crazy, giddy love, there’s rock solid friendship and shared laughter. So this is how my husband breaks my heart in the best way possible, by taking photographs that move me. I missed out, but then he gave me this and I didn’t.
