Jeff and I spent a quiet, cozy morning with this little family in their home recently. We shot Richmond and Elaine’s wedding last January 2016, and now they’re a family of three. It felt wonderful to see them as parents, and Sage was so soft and sweet, I didn’t want to leave. Haha.
Day-in-the-life sessions make me happy. Styled sets are fun and all, but it means more to us to shoot at a family’s home or at a nearby park or beach, doing things they do as a family. It’s organic and genuine and real. It means more to us as photographers this way, and I hope the children we get to shoot feel the same way when they’re grown. There’s so much love and romance to be found in everyday life.
We have been doing a lot of child and family photography these past couple of months. We started out shooting families before we shot weddings, and it warms my heart whenever we get to return to our roots. Feels fitting to share this here this lovely Sunday. Have a great one!
