It’s funny but I have a feeling what I will always remember about Grace are our text conversations. I don’t mind textspeak, but because I’m obsessive-compulsive, I have to spell everything out myself. Grace is the same way, but that’s probably because she’s a writer. She’s witty, eloquent, and passionate. Our replies usually come in 3-part text messages, so whenever I look at our thread of text messages on my phone, it almost reads like an email exchange. When we get excited texting each other, we both take to using an inordinate amount of exclamation points. Hee. It’s silly, I know. It’s the little things I remember best about people.

The top of the Spendido clubhouse really caught my eye. We don’t normally ask our couples to do death-defying stunts, but I really fell in love with the idea of having them there with the sky behind them. Jeff asked Mart and Grace if they could swing their legs over the ledge and dangle them over the side of the wall, three stories above ground. Without missing a beat, Grace went, “Sure!”, swinging her legs over the ledge easily. Mart went right after her. We learned later on that Mart is slightly uncomfortable with heights. Him doing it despite this and pulling it off makes him a rockstar in our book. You have got to love your bride a whole damn lot to do that, is all I’m saying. Haha. Love these two!

Mart and Grace booked us back in 2008 for their wedding this December 28, 2009. That date for us now holds the record for most number of inquiries. I don’t know what it is about December 28, but it appears to be quite charmed. While I always get a bit sad having to say we can’t join a couple on their wedding day, knowing that it’s going to be Mart and Grace’s wedding we’ll be at then? It more than makes up for it.
