Neil and Melissa’s Wedding and Day After Shoot

They booked us for their wedding way back in 2008 but it was our first time meeting both Neil and Melissa that day. Jeff and I have gotten used to having photographers as clients (some of our clients are photography enthusiasts themselves), but we’ve never shot a wedding photographer’s wedding before. Melissa shoots weddings in New Jersey, so you can imagine I was a bit nervous going in. I’m always excited for each shoot but I haven’t been nervous in a very long time. It was all for nothing though as they were absolutely fabulous.

We had a blast shooting alongside Jayjay Lucas and his team.

Jeff and I returned to The Peninsula Manila the very next morning for their Day After session. We had fun chatting with them and seeing Melissa try to make Neil laugh throughout the shoot. She’s chic and sassy, and he makes for quite the dashing, dapper groom. Put them together, and it’s an explosion of awesomeness. Neil and Melissa, we had a great time with you two. We wish you much laughter, much love, and nothing but good times ahead.

Day After Shoot: Edward and Malou

Instead of an engagement shoot, we had a Day After shoot with Edward and Malou. (For those who missed the post, you can view their wedding photos here.) Since we didn’t have enough time for a proper engagement shoot and we were going to be in Baguio till the day after the wedding, it made more sense to do this.

We arrived in their suite at the Baguio Country Club while she was having her hair and make up done. It felt just like a wedding day but without time constraints. You can just imagine how much we loved that.

My wife has always been telling me how much she’d love to shoot a bride in her wedding dress on a swing. Wouldn’t you know it, we had a bride in her dress and a swing in our line of sight. She tried to contain her excitement about finally getting the opportunity, but she was never good at concealing her emotions. I was half expecting her to jump up and down with glee.

Laughter. Light. Love.

Whenever I would tell them to look at each other, they looked at each other like they were off in their own little world and nobody else existed at that exact same moment. It felt so intimate. Edward and Malou, thank you for everything. We feel privileged to have been there for all of it.
